LAGO D'ISEO
Il lago d'Iseo o Sebino è situato a 180 m di quota nelle Prealpi, posto in fondo alla Val Camonica; si incunea tra le province di Bergamo e di Brescia e ospita la più grande isola lacustre naturale d'Italia nonché la più alta isola lacustre d'Europa: Monte Isola, cui fanno da satelliti a nord e a sud i due isolotti di Loreto e di San Paolo.
Il lago è generalmente frequentato tutto l'anno, ha la sua stagione turistica da maggio a settembre, periodo in cui numerose sono le manifestazioni: regate veliche, concerti e serate danzanti. Vi si praticano diverse attività sportive: nuoto, windsurfing, pesca, attività subacquee e veliche.La pesca lacustre è ancora attiva nei paesi rivieraschi. Sulle rive del lago si produce inoltre un ottimo olio di oliva, dotato di notevoli caratteristiche organolettiche.
La sponda bresciana è molto varia: da una parte il lago e Monte Isola, dall'altra vigne, frutteti, olivi e fiori, a cui seguono boschi di castagni e poi più in alto le arrotondate dorsali dei monti.
Lake Iseo, (called Sebino in Roman times), is the fourth largest lake in Lombardy that flows from the Oglio river. Closed by the Valle Camonica to the north, the lake sits at the borders of both Bergamo and Brescia.
Lake Iseo remains a place of outstanding natural beauty, with its lush green mountains surrounding the crystal clear lake. There are several medieval towns around the lake, the largest being Iseo, Lovere and Sarnico.
The lake is popular destination throughout the year, but the tourist season is generally between May and October. The lake is home to many events through the year, such as regattas, concerts and dances, and a variety of sports are practiced there, such as swimming, windsurfing, fishing, diving and sailing.
An excellent olive oil is cultivated on the banks of the lake,with particular sensory characteristics. In the middle of the lake lies Montisola, which ranks as one of the largest lake islands in Europe.
There is easy access to the island via the regular-running ferries. The Franciacorta wine region, just minutes away from the lake, produces some of the worlds finest sparkling wines.
